MV Saga X TV and VSAT system for 650 

Installed and setup on a MV Saga X vessel a centralized high-definition television distribution, marine satellite reception and dedicated emergency satellite communications.

Project process

Orbit Communications completed a two-stage marine communications and television deployment aboard Bridgemans Services Group's MV Saga X. Work began at a shipyard in Batam, Indonesia, where Orbit installed and setup a KVH marine satellite television and emergency VSAT systems while preparing the vessel for a new digital television headend.

After the MV Saga X arrived in Squamish, British Columbia, Orbit installed a 48-channel THOR HD QAM headend and integrated it with the vessel's existing coaxial distribution network. Television service was setup for approximately 650 locations, with every television individually scanned, tested and verified.
